Reading

Growing up as an only child with two working parents, books were my main source of entertainment and companionship. I realize that sounds kind of lonely and sad, but I swear it wasn't and I also had real friends. For me, reading has always been a way to connect with the world around me in a deeply intimate way - to see life through the eyes of another and discover that I can relate. Here are a few of my favorite books and writers over the years!

Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay
Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
Netherland by Joseph O'Neill

Cooking

Briefly, from the summer of 2016 to the spring of 2017, I worked as a cook at Hillside Supper Club, a cozy New American restaurant in my neighborhood. This was probably the most demanding job in my life to date, but I still love creating delicious dishes in my tiny kitchen at home.

I especially like to make:

Sausage and Kale Dinner Tart
Spiced Pear, Gorgonzola, and Toasted Walnut Pie
Roasted Butternut Penne with Pistachio Pesto
Almond Olive Oil Cake
Cupcake #25
Burmese Semolina Pudding

Volunteering

Outside of work, I support the following organizations:
